Senior Photography Tips

For the Girls:

CLOTHING – Solids are best, but we can work with the latest trends. Bring a variety of colors and types of clothing. Bring something Mom will want and then we can do the fun stuff you want. Bring more than you think you will need, we will go through your outfits before the session and suggest what will work the best. Make sure to dress head to toe.

If we do outdoor photos, there probably will not be a place to change. Keep this in mind so you can dress in layers.

JEWELRY – Keep it simple, but give it a purpose. It can really distract or enhance your photo.

MAKE UP – Makeup should be no heavier than what you might wear out in the evening. No shimmer makeup, it will reflect the light in still photos and look like dust or skin blemishes.

HAIR – Don’t change your hairstyle right before your session. Enough said.

NAILS – Your nails show, hand and toes. Make sure you have do not have chipped nail polish.

COMPLEXION – We retouch y our final portraits, so don’t worry about your complexion. Sometimes covering it with extra makeup can be more of a distraction.

BRACES – We have the option to retouch teeth with braces.

TANNING – Tan lines show up in your photos like crazy. If you tan, do not tan at least 36 hours before your session. Pink/Orange undertones show up on your skin. Avoid sunburns at all costs. We work with a local spray tan salon. They do a wonderful job, if you would like their information before your session please give us a call.
